Minä lähden Pohjois-Karjalaan - Leaving on a jet plane (er, train, actually)

Lähden huomenna siskoni ja kummipojan kanssa noin viikoksi entiseen kotikaupunkiini vanhempien luo. Matkan takia olen melkein kokonaan nettipimennossa (vanhempani eivät vielä ole saaneet hankittua nettiyhteyttä vaikka tarkoitus onkin), eikä blogattua varmaan tule. Toivottavasti käsitöitä tulee sitten tehtyä senkin edestä! On mukavaa nähdä vanhempia hiukan pitempään kuin viikonlopun ajan, ja viettää aikaa yhdessä melkein koko perheen voimin (lankoni on ulkomailla työmatkalla, eikä pääse tulemaan).

Tomorrow I´m leaving (along with my sister and nephew) for a week-long vacation in my former hometown, Joensuu. That means I won`t be having an easy access to internet, if at all - my parents still haven`t got the net. So there will be no blogging - but more crafting, I hope! It`ll be nice to see the parents and to spend some time together as a family (unfortunately my brother-in-law is abroad for a work related trip and cannot be with us)

Äidillä on synttärit 7. päivä, ja 15. päivä on äitienpäivä. Ajattelin tehdä hänelle kassin ja mahdollisesti meikkipussin. Tällä viikolla en kuitenkaan millään ehtinyt, joten ompelen äidin koneella viikolla kun äiti itse on töissä, ja lahjon sitten äitienpäivänä. Äiti-parka onkin harvoin saanut kahta lahjaa, kun synttärit ja äitienpäivä osuvat parhaimmillaan peräkkäisille päiville. No, paras lahja on varmaan saada viettää syntymäpäivää perheen ja ennen kaikkea ensimmäisen lapsenlapsen kanssa, veikkaan.

My Mum has her birthday on the 7th of May, and Mother`s Day is on the 15th. I plan to make her a tote bag and a matching cosmetics bag. This week was incredibly busy, so I´ll sew them next week while Mum`s at work. She`ll get a combined birthday-Mother`s Day -present, but that`s often been the case since Mother`s Day is so close to her birthday. Poor Mum, instead of two presents just one! Though I think the best present this year is celebrating her birthday with both her daughters and her first grandson. Pictures of the presents later!
